The most popular Voltages for craftsman combination tool sets are 14.4 and 19.2. I personally recomend if you are only going to have a single set of cordless tools, getting a 19.2 volt set, 14.4 volts aren't strong enough for all jobs, but are great for light work, 19.2 volts are heavier, but I've yet to encounter a situation that required more power. I have used a 24.0 volt drill before, and those things are really strong, in that they will start twisting you if the screw doesn't give, it's overkill except the most extreme situations.
For what it's worth if you're going after one set, 19.2 volt is the way to go. If you want two sets for different purposes (light work versus heavier). I'd go with a 14.4 volt set and a 19.2 volt set.

Select the Voltage, you are interested in below. The voltages below 14.4 are more or less going the way of the dinosaur and most of the time will be empty if you select it, like stated above, 14.4, and 19.2 are the standard popular Craftsman voltages and getting replacement batteries, and chargers in the future, will be easier and cheaper as well, because no battery lasts forever. Oh, and one more thing, the widest variety of tools is available for those two voltages, like routers, and less common tool types. Thanks.
